Puna Wai Bowls
Puna Wai Bowls
Manga Maha, Awa Kotahi | One River, Many Streams Exhibition
These very special bowls were created in collaboration with Lisa Donaldson Ceramics for Sam’s 2019 Project Wai exhibition.
They are used for holding water at the entrance of buildings or in an outdoor setting that indicates a special place. The wai, or water, is used for cleansing spiritually and is an aesthetic reminder of our connection with water.
Each bowl has it’s own name, connecting it to where it belongs.
Wai Māori (freshwater) Puna Wai Bowl - kākāriki/green with a kawakawa leaf design
Wai Tai (sea water) Puna Wai Bowl - kahurangi/blue with a fern leaf design
Approximate Measurements
